With temperatures forecast to stay below 15°F tonight, the City Mission has activated WNYCH’s Code Blue, Buffalo’s cold weather emergency plan for those experiencing homelessness.

The warming shelters are located at The City Mission and St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy. They will be open from 8:00 pm tonight through 8:00 am tomorrow morning.

Those who do not have a safe warm place to stay for the night are encouraged to stay the night at the warming shelter. Community members who may know people who do not have a place to stay are encouraged to notify them of the opening of the warming shelter.

Visitors to the warming shelter will receive a hot meal and will be offered a cot.

Code Blue is activated on nights between November 15 and March 15 when temperatures are forecasted to be below 15 F.
