Rasheed Wyatt was unanimously endorsed this morning by Committee members of the University District to be their next Councilmember.

Erie County Democratic Committee Chairman Jeremy Zellner ran this morning’s meeting and was pleased to see the unanimous support of Wyatt.
“I’m happy the Committeemembers came together to unanimously back Rasheed Wyatt,” said Zellner. “The Committeemembers care deeply about the community they live in and it showed in the thoughtful questions and deep knowledge of the district. I urge the Common Council to take the recommendation of the Committeemembers.”
Six resumes were submitted to ECDC for candidates and all were invited to appear at this morning’s meeting. Wyatt said to Committeemembers that his priorities were jobs and crime. He is the current Chief of Staff of the Buffalo Common Council and has past experience in finance.
“If appointed, I know Rasheed would be a great advocate for the University District,” Zeller said. “I thank former Councilmember Bonnie Russell for her hard work and dedication over the years and I know she will continue to do great work in her new role in Erie County Court Judge Mary Carney’s office.”
