Erie County Democratic Chairman Jeremy Zellner announced today that the party’s executive committee has unanimously endorsed Congressman Brian Higgins for re-election. The committee also endorsed James O’Donnell, a Buffalo Police Officer, to run against Republican Chris Collins.

Chairman Zellner noted that, “Our party is proud to stand behind these excellent public servants. Congressman Higgins has a record of delivering for Western New York when it counts the most. When people talk about the revitalization of Buffalo, much of what is happening can be traced directly to the groundwork that Brian has laid.”

“Jim O’Donnell knows firsthand the hard work and sacrifice it takes to achieve the American Dream,” said Zellner. “As the son of a Marine and nurse, Jim has been working hard his entire life. He is a Buffalo Police officer with a Masters in Economics who has put his life on the line to serve our community. He’s also an attorney who will fight for the district and to end partisan gridlock in Washington.”

The Erie County Democratic Committee is the largest political organization outside of the New York metropolitan area.
