Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz has endorsed Jeremy J. Zellner for reelection as Erie County Chair.  As the highest elected official in Erie County, Poloncarz’s support marks the culmination of a series of endorsements that Zellner has received over the past several months.

“Jeremy is committed to supporting candidates who embrace true Democratic Party values and he is a real advocate for creating a better community,” said Poloncarz. “I look forward to voting for him again for another term as Chair of the Committee.”

Since taking over as Chair in 2012, Zellner has committed to growing the party through outreach and engagement with the community at large, most recently hosting open-house events for Democrats in the towns of Concord and Clarence.  The party moved into new, state-of-the-art headquarters last year and has made resources available to candidates running at every level.

Zellner noted that “County Executive Poloncarz and I share a belief that politics and public service can be forces for good in our community.  This past winter Mark provided strong leadership during one of the worst storms in a generation, and he is fighting for groundbreaking reforms to county government.  As Chairman I have made it my mission to open the doors of our party.  I am dedicated to moving the party in the right direction by running an open and clean organization that is committed to supporting Democrats – and Democrats only.”

Beginning earlier this year, Zellner has received endorsements for reelection from:

·         The Southtowns Democratic Chairs Association

·         The City of Buffalo Zone Chairs Association

·         The Erie County Democratic Town Chairs Association

·         The Erie County Democratic Committee State Committee Members Association

Erie County Democratic committee members will meet to elect a chair at the party’s biennial reorganization meeting in September.
