Its like a boxing match. Just a day after the Buffalo Zoo started their PR campaign on their website, PETA responded almost immediately with this mass email

The most recent U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) inspection reports for the Buffalo Zoo in Buffalo, New York, reveal numerous deaths and injuries to animals at the zoo. The violations cited in the reports describe trash-strewn enclosures, negligent and incompetent staff, and judgments by decisionmakers that led directly to animal suffering. The Buffalo Zoo has posted a section to their website in defense of their care for the polar Bears that died recently at the zoo.

last month, the USDA report cited zookeeper neglect as a possible factor in the deaths of three polar bears between August 2006 and February of this year. A fourth polar bear died in May.
