Pot Possessing Assemblyman
New York State Assemblyman Stephen Katz was busted for pot possession, state police announced this morning.
Katz was stopped at 10 a.m. on March 12 for speeding on the state Thruway in the Town of Coeymans, police said. He was found to have marijuana.
It isn’t immediately clear how much pot he is said to have had on his possession.
The 59-year-old Mohegan Lake Republican was released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to be in Coeymans town court on March 28.
Katz has been an assemblyman since 2011. He made local headlines recently after he criticized the NYS for paying $60 million toward the Buffalo Bills lease, saying the team isn’t rich enough and should not be funded by state tax payers.
His district covers parts of Dutchess, Putnam, and Westchester counties.
