In today’s Buffalo News, it is revealed that former Mayor Tony Masiello has $782,049 of leftover campaign funds at his disposal. So far, he has used the money to support the local Democratic Party, the candidacy of Mark Poloncarz for Erie County Comptroller as well as several other personal expenses and causes. As described in last week’s Buffalo News, Masiello is now a lobbyist for Government Action Professionals and will most certainly leverage his former position and large bank account to win new clients and lobby for favorable legislation. You think these two articles, when put together, present a picture of questionable ethical behavior? Yeah, me too.

A former State Senator and inept Mayor of Buffalo with nearly a million dollars in his pocket, buying access and favor with local party leaders to gain the city as a client? Nah, nothing to see here…move along.
