Music For A Sunny Day
I’ve been listening to the following songs in the car all day. These songs seem perfect for driving around on a sunny day with the windows down and the radio blaring. I made a CD for just this scenario this morning…
Crazy Bitch – Buckcherry
Rosalita – Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band
The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song – The Flaming Lips
I Turn My Camera On – Spoon
Eye Of The Tiger – Survivor (You knew it was coming)
Copperhead Road – Steve Earle
Hey Ladies – Beastie Boys
Drift Away – Dobie Gray
Doggy Dogg World – Snopp DO Double Gizzle
Little Green Bag – The George Baker Selection
Hung Up – Madonna
Hope I Never Lose My Wallet – The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Float On – Modest Mouse
Try A Little Tenderness – Otis Redding
Me & Julio Down By The Schoolyard – Paul Simon
Tricky – Run DMC
Rappers Delight – Sugar Hill Gang
A little bit of something for everyone…
What are your favorite songs for a warm, sunny day?
While gardening in the wonderful sunshine yesterday I found the Beatles Let it Be (Naked) and 10,000 Manics Unplugged for MTV to fit in nicely. You just can’t beat listening to music on an iPod!
Rappers Delight is like 25 minutes long! I get bored with it after about the first 5 minutes. Hotel Motel Holiday Inn.
But with the wonder that is VH1 Classic, I did recently see the video for UTFO’s “Roxanne Roxanne”, which i knew all the words to back in like 10th grade.
A few weeks ago, I was into heavy Beatles rotation. Sgt Peppers, Revolver, and Abbey Road mostly, but I was going into White Album at some point. But lately, I’ve been lazy so I’ve been listening mainly to the Stern show and its replays on Sirius.
On the way home from dinner tonight, though, I played Beck’s Midnite Vultures, which is a brilliant album.
Rappers Delight by Sugar Hill Gang = I was listening to that driving around on Friday afternoon!
What’s all this “driving around”? Have you not heard about the price of gas? I was listening to “American Idiot” after my bike ride!
Heirate Mich – Rammstein
Legs – Art of Noise
Birdland – Weather Report
Ida Red – Bob Wills
Paul Oakenfold
All good stuff for driving around
