It came down to two players for open thread honors: Doug Bodger and Tony McKegney.
My lasting memory of Doug Bodger is from a promo ad for WGR from the early nineties promoting their Sabres coverage. It had 90’s music with the players talking over it. Mogilny said some thing like “freewheel and skate,” and it was dubbed in all Max Headroom style to make it sound cool. LaFontaine was on there, Hawerchuk, Svoboda, etc. They all sounded pretty cool until they got to Bodger who said “That’s my job. That’s, that’s, that’s my job.”
Tony McKegney was black at a time when almost nobody else in the NHL was.
Based on that, Tony McKegney is way cooler than Doug Bodger.

Wow – never thought I’d be the first poster at the start of the third! Is everyone off tweeting instead of blogging?
Its not that nice of a night out there, nothing going on, nothing good on TV, Halloween is next weekend…either we are way too dedicated to the team or we need to get a hobby.
Great job Stafford! Just about every other hockey game tonight went into OT, why not this one
What did that water bottle ever do to Smith?
Well first thing…..
To Jeanne: Smith did not like the bottle because it wasn”t filled with his favorite flavored Gatorade. That is why he hit it.
