U.S. Senate to Help NFL Schedule Games

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), having solved the woeful upstate economy and a myriad of other national issues, has turned his attention to a matter more appropriate for a United States Senator – the Buffalo Bills schedule.

In his letter (to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell), Schumer said, “Teams like the Jets, Giant and Cowboys are historic rivals that have strong fan bases throughout the country and in western New York.The Patriots, I don’t have to tell you, seem to make it to the Super Bowl every year. If the Bills can play teams like these late in the season, we will better set the stage for them to ensure sell out crowds and prevent blackouts.’’

I do not even want to see how Teddy Kennedy reacts when he finds out the Pats will be playing in Buffalo in December instead of Miami. When thousands of New England area residents write him to complain that they would prefer to travel to warm weather cities in December to follow their team then this battle will be on!

Or perhaps the Senate should stick to matters more appropriate to that body.

    Next order of business will be a non-binding resolution banning Zubaz in all club and suite level seating…..and a free Dewars for anyone named Ted Kennedy at any NFL venue.

    I like it when they concern themselves with such matters of national importance… That way they have less time to screw up things that really matter…

    Take back everything you just said in the first line of your post or else I swear over all that is good and holy the barrio will be on your doorstep. To ban Zubaz, in their glorious blue and red, is to say to the Packers fan, Don’t wear your cheese head on gameday”, or to Kevin “Don’t drink Blue in the parking lot of the Ralph during your tailgate”. My dear dear friend don’t rob me and the multitude of our dreams of wearing Zubaz into the club and suite seating areas. One day, as Moses parted the red seas, I too, will wear Zubaz and part the lines at the concessions counter. At the end of this season, I hope to again walk among the blessed and sample the splendid fare in the Buffalo Bills Suites. If and when I am blessed with this opportunity, I swear it before all bloggers that I will do it draped in velvet Zubaz.     Yes, please get back to matters of true importance like steroids in baseball (but not football).
