For those unfamiliar with the open thread theme, we traditionally would dedicate each open thread to a former player who had worn the jersey number that corresponded with the game. But that can grow old.
But have no fear! Your wily host is always thinking up ways to make your BfloBlog experience more enjoyable. And since WNY has seen so many new and younger Sabres fans, this gives me a chance to talk a bit about the Sabres teams I watched growing up. Thanks to my old Buffalo Sabres media guides, I will continue to find a player to dedicate each game to, plus provide an excerpt from a media guide about the player. Or if that’s not possible, some other interesting tidbit that could be fascinating only to me. Wonderful, is it not? So without further adieu, may I introduce…

As much as we as fans can cry out for a big trade… The trend with Quinn and Regier is to sit back and watch seasons move from salvageable to lost.
