The Buffalo Bandits last championship came in May of 1996, the third championship in the history of the franchise.
Four months later they moved to The Crossroads Arena The Marine Midland Arena The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Arena The HSBC Arena. Since then, the Bandits have made four appearances in the championship games, and last night’s 14-13 win marks the first time they have come away victorious.
I’ll be the first to admit that I haven’t followed the bandits with anything more than a passing interest since about 1999. But hey, I was at the first Bandits game, and even had seasons for two or three years (talk about a cheap ticket back when they played four home games every year…I think my seasons cost about $32). So I still get some satisfaction when they do well.
But most importantly, it appears the curse of the HSBC Arena may be over. Time to bring the Stallions Blizzard back!
The guys from USRT were there, so go read all about it.

The owners of the Toronto Maple Leafs – ON Teachers Pension Fund – apparently are about to become owners of the PA Turnpike.
Will my EZ Pass work at the ACC??

I’d say bring back the Destroyers, but I was bored by every Arena game I went to. So we’ll keep the Bandits.
