So Kevin made a mistake on Sunday by informing me that at some point in BfloBlog history he made an even bigger mistake. He granted me administrative level access to this here blog. I believe he was counting on the fact that I was sure to have forgotten my password by now. Well Kevin, you were correct. I did. However Firefox was designed with morons like me in mind.
In order to show my gratitude to Kevin for this boneheaded move and inviting me into his man-cave on Sunday to watch the game (next year’s Buffalo Sports Bloggers Drink and Drunk â„¢ will be held there, just don’t tell his wife) I thought that I’d pass on this interesting Sabres rumor.
Could this be the Slug’s swan song?
Well no, not completely but there’s a chance that he will be headed down the salty highway to third jersey status. From Larry Quinn himself via Sabres Not Slugs.
Larry Quinn made some interesting statements before tonight’s Sabres game regarding the franchise’s jerseys.
Quinn said that the team is talking about returning to the traditional jerseys and logo permanently. This would likely happen in 2010-11, the franchise’s 40th season.
He said the current slugs may be related into third jerseys if that happens. Quinn stated that it depends on how well the third jerseys sell.
So get out there and spend your hard-earned money on yet another Sabres jersey. Think of the 10 year old out there who has grown up only wearing black and red or a slug on his chest and how embarrassing that has been. Won’t anybody think of the children?

Sabres are expected to have a different look. Ruff switched a couple of lines in practice this week, then stuck with them for consecutive days. It’s historically a sign they’ll stay together for the game.
If history holds true, expect Andrew Peters to play for the first time in five games and Daniel Paille to return from a one-game benching. Paille has been at left wing for center Clarke MacArthur and right wing Maxim Afinogenov. Peters skated alongside center Paul Gaustad and right wing Adam Mair.
Drew Stafford and Patrick Kaleta would be the odd men out.
I like this team better with four injuries.
I’ve noticed that they have been phasing out the slug alot already this season (center ice and at press conferences)
I’d expect to be back to the classic jerseys by next season…
That’s the NHL’s doing. Because they brought back third jerseys this year they wanted to showcase the new logos.
In this era of inclusiveness, it’s proper that even the most moronic among us get a voice on this blog.
