No All-Star Surprises for Sabres

Thomas Vanek will be the Sabres lone representative on this year’s NHL All-Star team.

No surprise there, and honestly he’s the only one who warranted such consideration.

    Honk for the Goose!

    Michael Ryan made the AHL team.

    Think we could have still used him around?

    In writing the date today 1-8-9, I realize that one month from now will be a very important date, at least for one of us in this thread so far. Any big plans scheduled for 289, 289?

  5. twoeightnine says:

    (Rory is the Captain of the Planet USA side, are we going to clamor for him too?)

  6. twoeightnine says:

    Wow, I didn’t even realize that was coming up. I got nothing.

    Sounds like a good excuse for a party to me.

    @3-
    Mancari made the AHL team for Canada too. He will never be a fulltime Sabre. Mike Ryan blows guys.

    In other news, I see Ruff has apparently gotten rid of his fifth best defenseman. And I’m being charitable to Tallinder by putting him ahead of Butler.

    butler has performed quite well no doubt. but you cant compare Tallinder who is out there trying to stop first lines like crosby/ovechkin to butler who is out there with playing against other teams 3 and 4 lines. Ruff has made him look really good by keeping him in that role.

    Swith that around, and lets see who looks better.

    i would prefer Butler to play over numinenn while roster space allows it, but That isnt going to happen since we probably want to try to sign a veteran free agent or 2 at some point in the future.
