 After years of experience in the government and non-profit sectors, in May 2009 Tracy decided to take her knowledge of non-profit development, communications, public relations, education, issues development, fundraising, and grant writing and put it to use by opening Tracy Diina Communications, a PR firm specializing in assisting non-profits and small businesses with developing and disseminating their messages and obtaining the proper funding to do that. It quickly became apparent that many businesses and non-profits had been searching for affordable, quality services. Nicole Schuman Co-Founder and President Social Media Club of Buffalo   Tracy has a B.A. in English and Education and an M.S. in Education from SUNY Geneseo.  She is the founder and past President of the 21st Century Club, and the former Vice President of the New Millennium Group; both groups were designed to engage younger people in civic affairs.  She served as Director of Public Relations for the Buffalo Economic Renaissance Corporation from 1997-2001, the scandal free years. Additionally, she served for four years on the Planned Parenthood of Buffalo & Erie County Board of Directors, and for two years on the St. Mary’s Condominium Association Board of Directors, with one year as President. Immediately prior to opening Tracy Diina Communications, Tracy was the Executive Director of Literacy Volunteers of Buffalo & Erie County, from 2001 until April 2009. Literacy Volunteers is the region’s sole provider of free one-on-one adult and family literacy services, As Executive Director, Tracy tripled the annual operating budget, initiated several new literacy programs and expanded into the realm of youth literacy services. Tracy was responsible for helping launch the Reading Right Now project to promote early literacy and provide all new mothers at Children’s Hospital with a book for their new baby, in light of the fact that 61% of low income families have no books in their homes. Tracy and her husband Brian Kuty live in North Tonawanda with their seven year old daughter, Ava, and their four year old daughter, Olivia. She currently serves as the Board Chair of the Eating Disorders Association of WNY, a Board Member of MAMIES, Leader of Girl Scout Troop 30425 and is active in the B Team Buffalo, a group dedicated to building a better Buffalo.
