Nashville forward Scott Nichol received a nine-game suspension for his sucker-punch on Jaroslav Spacek.

Nine games for a deliberate punch to a defenseless opponent with a clear intent to injure. As commenter TreyPutt noted elsewhere: Hypothetically, I’d like to see what Coly came up with if Mair or Peters sucker punches Ovechkin on the 26th and he plays his next game. Something tells me it would be stiffer than 9 games.
