    That didn’t exactly work either.

  2. trevor says:

    buffalo looking spectacularly disinterested tonight.

  3. Red says:

    Good picture there, JD.

  4. JDInVegas says:

Thanks Red. Here’s one from our vantage point last Wednesday.

  5. val says:

    Oh yeah, JD- he’s quite a looker…

  6. JDInVegas says:

Yes Val, he’s a chick magnet from what I can tell. Dawnelle has never video taped me for that long.

  7. Scoop77 says:

They look disinterested most nights. This might be the laziest team in the NHL. I don’t think they have enough “want to” to beat the good teams. They’re just playing aimlessly.

  8. val says:

He was smacking the boards around you at that game, if I remember correctly?

  9. JDInVegas says:

ok, back down the stairs to the game and adding some iced tea to my vodka.

  10. JDInVegas says:

Yes he was Val. Both games to the right of the penalty box.

  11. val says:

I remember remarking about that to KJ- he hasn’t gotten as much TV time lately…

  12. trevor says:

what a fucking bullshit penalty call..get hit in the face five inches off the ice because you fall and you get to draw a penalty. what a joke.

  13. JDInVegas says:

Come on boys. Let’s pop one in here.

  14. Red says:

Gawd. 3 on 1 shorthanded opportunity for the Pens. Awful.

  15. val says:

This organist needs to stay in the church.

  16. Red says:

Man, if I was in the NHL, I’d have a sharp fingernail or a bit of razor blade and I’d bleed every time a stick came within a foot of my head.

  17. Red says:

    BTW, Patriots up 16-14.

    Wilfork’s a piece of shit.

  18. Kevin J. says:

Some guys did do that during the earlier days of the NHL, Red; if I remember correct, some of the Montreal Canadians from the 1950s or so were known for enhancing things.

  19. JDInVegas says:

Red, I just looked in at your webpage. Glad to hear your dad is making progress. Hang in there. It was rough seeing my sister at Christmas for the first time since her chemo started. She seems to be in good spirits though and the chemo is over. Now it’s on to 5 weeks of radiation. Nobody deserves this kind of shit.

  20. Kevin J. says:

One goal in the last 5 1/2-6 periods? Come on, Sabres.

  21. JDInVegas says:

I should reword that. It’s wasn’t rough on me, more shocking than anything. It’s been rough on her and she has more strength than I would ever have.

  22. Kevin J. says:

Hang in there yourself, JD. My mom made it through chemo and some radiation and is still driving us crazy at 77.

  23. Red says:

Kevin J., seems that it would pay off better now, you know?

JD, thanks for the good thoughts. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Your sister’s in my thoughts as well.

  24. Red says:

Whoa. Giants up 20 (21 after the PAT) – 16. Who should I be rooting for? :)

  25. Kevin J. says:

A player could enhance things like that, Red. but they have to be careful about foreign objects, because those are illegal.

But a filed finger mail would seem possible..

  26. JDInVegas says:

Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words and encouragment.

Yeah Giants. F the Pats and F the 72 Dolphins who are all starting to get wood right about now with their dopey champagne bottles.

  27. Red says:

For the ‘72 dolphins, I think a can of Ensure might be more appropriate.

  28. val says:

It just doesn’t seem that outlandish to hope that we could score 1 TIME on Ty freaking Conklin!

  29. Red says:

You’re right, Val. I keep thinking that the Sabres are consciously or subconsciously saving them all for the Winter Classic.

  30. Kevin J. says:

I’m rooting for New England. I’m not a real fan of Belichek, but I don’t buy into the arrogant thing, and there’s no way they’re winning because of “cheating.”

  31. Kevin J. says:

This really sucks; this will be three losses in a row with very little offense.

  32. val says:

How does Miller have NO SHUTOUTS, and yet we just handed Ty Conklin one? It’s just so wrong…

  33. Red says:

Well, that’s it for me. Time to go upstairs and watch football. Ought to be a good half. Hope to see you all tomorrow for the Bills game! Over and out…

  34. val says:

Night Red. Night everyone! I’ll be here on Tuesday, blatantly misusing my work internet connection to keep up with the game…

  35. JDInVegas says:

Would have been nice of the hockey gods to grant the Sabres a bounce on that last PP. Bottom line is that the Pens deserved to win. The Sabres are still 13-6-1 in the last 20, but have hit a rut here where if they get great goaltending, the offense disappears and vice versa.

Well, a Pens vs Sabres round one could be in the cards and would be very entertaining.

If the Pens were going to get a shutout I would have rather seen Sabourin get it. He played in here in Vegas in 03-04 for our team.

  36. JDInVegas says:

Night Val. Don’t work too hard Tuesday.

  37. Kevin J. says:

Would Dan Sabourin be Gary Sabourin’s son? I remember Gary for playing for the Blues in the 1970s.

  38. JDInVegas says:

Good question KJ. I looked on a few sites and there is also a Ken Sabourin. I don’t think they are related. Danny wasn’t even second string here, he was third string and only played 10 games that year.

  39. JDInVegas says:

Well I am going to go watch the football game. Seems like it’s a good one so far. Good night all my friends out here. Happy New Year and see you here New Years Day. Stay safe all.

  40. Kevin J. says:

Good night and stay well yourself, and your sister, JD.

  41. Kevin J. says:

See most of you here for the Bills’ game tomorrow.
