Game Twenty-Four Open Thread: Predators at Sabres

In hindsight, I guess the whole Max Afinogenov or JP Dumont question is a little clearer today than it was three years ago, huh?

    hello?? HELLO!!!!!!

  2. DaveD says:

    Good PK.

Is it just me, or does the ice look better suited for this team than Saturday? I know the team was tired, but they just seemed to play re-active instead of pro-active. The surface at Bell Centre just looked like crap.

  3. Kevin J. says:

Not too many chances for either team so far tonight.

But there was one for Buffalo.

  4. DaveD says:

First penalty. I guess that’s what a defensive game is all about?

I’m still getting used to being able to watch games – it’s been over two seasons.

  5. Kevin J. says:

Let’s hope they can give you something good to celebrate watching, DaveD.

  6. DaveD says:

Time-Warner is the devil. Went to Dish 10 days ago. Still getting used to being able to watch every game.

This isn’t the same style as 05-06! Go figure….

  7. Kevin J. says:

We do and always have gotten all games with Time Warner.

And Val STILL works at Time Warner.

  8. DaveD says:

You two both OBVIOUSLY don’t live 100 miles away in Millcreek PA. :-)

I can’t even order NHL Center Ice.

http://www.wgr550.com has been my only refuge. They even black out the games on HDNET.

  9. DaveD says:

Commercial break – so let me explain. I get the following in HD through Time-Warner Northeast Ohio:

    HDNET
    HDNEt Movie
    STO (Sportstime Ohio)
    TBS
    TNT
    Universal

And two of the five local channels.

I should say *had*. With dish I get a bit more.

  10. Kevin J. says:

Nope, we’re here on the West Side of Buffalo. Paul Gaustad lives about 3 1/2 blocks away and patronizes the restaurant/bar a block away.

Damn; we thought about Center Ice, and are really pissed that the Big Ten Network is not available here.

  11. DaveD says:

We get that – Big 10. But only in analog. The supposed “digital” chaneel (channel 70) never works.

    Oops, worked.

I did get a snail mail from TWNEO today – “Dear valued customer”… explaining the channel changes that are months overdue.

Funny thing – they still don’t offer MSG+ (or WNY MSG) at any tier. We used to get Empire back in the Adelphia days. And with Direct TV MSG+ is considered a local sports channel.

Time-Warner? They black us out like we can get MSG. Yet the only games I was able to get for two seasons were Versus and Fox Sports Pittsburgh.

    End of rant.

Val, Time-Warner has a ton of good people work for them. (I know, I spoke to quite a few trying to get NHL Center Ice and wondering why my cable/internal were cut off a few weeks ago.)

Let’s table this and see if we can get one in before the next intermission.

  12. Kevin J. says:

Or at least see Peters get into a bout with Bielak or someone.

  13. DaveD says:

Quite a bit different style than 05-06. Back then 0-0 at this point would have me pacing.

That was a good shift by Mair.

  14. Kevin J. says:

Yeah, there was a wee bit more skating and shooting back in 2005-06.

  15. Kevin J. says:

It almost looks like each team is waiting for someone to spark them.

  16. DaveD says:

I guess there were worse calls last Friday.

  17. DaveD says:

    Oops. I meant worse NON-calls.

  18. Kevin J. says:

    Damn damn damn.

Just when Buffalo started to show some life, a giveaway leads to a fortunate goal for Nashville.

  19. Kevin J. says:

Holy crap, what a save by Miller.

  20. Kevin J. says:

Wow, that second goal really sucks.

  21. trevor says:

Looks like the sabres are turning into the bills right quick.

  22. Matt S. says:

I’ll second what 289 already said on Deadspin this morning..

Good riddance you cocksucking son of a bitch!
