Choices, choices.

You’re a writer living in NYC. You need a new apartment. Your budget? $1,300/month (shared with a roommate, so really: $650/month).

Your choices?

1. Red Hook, Brooklyn. A pre-pre-gentrification area with no subway access
2. Harlem, Manhattan. 100 blocks from where you work.
3. Screw it all and freelance from Buffalo.

Buffalo Rising has the story of someone who chose (3).

If more of the creative class can be convinced to telecommute from Buffalo, therein lie the seeds of a renaissance.
