Cretin

Joan at BR posted about a Chinese “performance artist” (read: circus clown) who decided to sit, naked, in a plexiglass box filled with concrete. He’s done it before, and done it for 24 hours. But on a cold Buffalo night, it was too much for him to take, and he got out after an hour.

I may not know much about art, but I know what I like.

I thought that was the end of it, until his name surfaced again this morning.

In the name of art, Mr. He Yunchang decided to tether his naked body to a rock or something by a rope at the American Falls. He was going to stand at the brink of the Falls – naked (it’s in the 40s today) for 24 hours.

Chang even had a staff member from UB and several people filming the stunt until something went wrong. The rope that was holding him from slipping into the rapids came untied and he had to wade back towards shore.

Note that it wasn’t one of his own entourage who called the cops, but a concerned citizen. Luckily, Yunchang was arrested. I believe the charge was patent stupidity in the 1st degree, punishable by a fine and an open-handed slap in the face.
