Amazing Race, WNY Edition

I’m watching the teams go from Montreal to Toronto right now.

The Weavers wonder if any one of them knows how to say “where is” before the mom realizes people speak English in Toronto.

TAR has had some ignorant racers before, but no one holds a candle to the Weavers. They thought Lake Pontchartrain was one of the Great Lakes. At least on tonight’s ep, they’re on an actual Grat Lake.

They go up the CN Tower and have to find their next task using some binoculars.

At some point, they go to the Falls on the NY side. But I’ll probably have to wait to see that tomorrow morning.

UPDATE: No, they don’t. The cluebox I saw in August was, evidently, either a decoy or cut out of the program. More likely the former.

The teams were told to drive from Toronto to Queenston, from where they took a ride on the Whirlpool Jet Boats. When they retrieved the clue off a buoy in the river, they rode to a dock in Lewiston and ran into the Davis Park, where they completed the last task and ran to the finish line in this order: Linz, Bransen, Weavers. Thank God the Weavers lost. They were just sickening, self-absorbed people. The Bransens I honestly hadn’t paid much attention to (and they were part of a show I didn’t pay much attention to.) I’m glad the Linzes won because they competed hard and were neither particularly nasty to each other or other teams.

Either way, I’m relieved that’s over.

CBS aired scenes from the next edition of the Amazing Race, which will start airing in February – not a moment too soon to rejuvenate the show. I got a big “please, please watch the next edition – it’ll be good, like you remember” vibe off that promo.
