County Santaland

This morning on WBEN, Giambra took the role of Scrooge and the Grinch to announce that the county has canceled the heavily anticipated and universally enjoyed Santaland at Chestnut Ridge Park for 2005, due to budgetary concerns.

But what if a few enterprising community activist groups, with the support of private sponsorships and donations, decided to resurrect it?

Some of us are working on just that, and I’ll have some interesting stories of good-hearted volunteerism butting heads with bad-natured political parochialism. I’ve already got one, and it’s a one-hour old idea.
