Sandy Beach is pooping his Depends.

I was listening today, and I fully agree with Random Thoughts’ sentiments here. The guy is sounding a bit desperate, and he’s getting to be less listenable.

I switched over from Randi Rhodes on 1270, and he had callers talking about the snowstorm. One caller talked about how she was in an SUV, and Beach went on for a good while ragging on hippies in their hybrids, while regular folk in their SUVs will be just fine in the snow.

Yeah. I love to see the pickups and trucks in the fucking ditches on the 219 during a snowstorm, too.

You see, a Prius with good snow tires is going to do as well, if not better in the snow than a 3 ton truck. 4WD only helps pull you out of stuff. Snow tires can do that well, too. But what is going to have an easier time stopping or slowing to turn? A 3-ton truck with regular SUV tires or a 1 1/2 ton FWD Prius with traction control? The latter. And no, Sandy, a Prius or Insight or Accord Civic driver does not have to worry about whether he’s in battery or gas mode at any given time.

Sandy Beach is getting to sound like an old coot who has become bitter that he hasn’t been able to swing a nice place in Boca. Maybe the fact that the lefties over on 1270 finally give people an alternative to his oft-ignorant rantings.
