A reform agenda

Freshman County Legislators Locklear, Konst, and Iannello have come up with a “Chinese Menu” of reform initiatives that you can check out here.

The goal is to make county government more responsive and accessible to the people. Lofty, that. Things like recall by referendum, initiating a “CountyStat” computerized performance tracking program, and periodic evening and off-site leg sessions.

The mere fact that it’s being talked about is a positive step, and from the looks of what’s being proposed, it’s a more grassroots-type reform that no one needed to pay a PFM $40k per week to dream up.
