I am fanatical about the British sitcom “The Office.” I find it to be the most brilliant sitcom ever made. Anywhere. No laugh-track, no “live studio audience”. Just clever writing, talented acting, and hilarious situations.
When the American version started up, I was in full “I must hate this” mode. The first season I more or less missed – not because of stubbornness, but because I didn’t know when the hell it was on.
This season, I started watching a bit more regularly. And I haven’t watched a sitcom since…well, pretty much since Seinfeld went off the air. (With the exception of “Curb Your Enthusiasm”).
Make no mistake – the American version of the Office is very clever, has excellent acting, and is hilarious.
Although Brent, Gareth, Tim and Dawn will always be the originals, Michael Scott and the rest of Scranton’s Dunder-Mifflin deserve your support.
