Ben Smith reports that Tom Reynolds sent out an email with the following re: line:

“New York Democrat Billed Taxpayers for Phone Sex Call”

Well, there you go. See? Those heathen, Godless, depraved Democrats are up to the same nonsense as Mark Foley. Case closed, right? Reynolds can cruise back to Washington.

Of course, Reynolds doesn’t figure you’re going to actually find out what that’s all about.

Candidate Mike Arcuri indeed spent $1.25 of taxpayer money on one minute’s worth of phone sex. As Smith says:

(One minute of phone sex! Insert joke here.)

The problem for Reynolds?

The phone number that Arcuri dialed was (800) 457-8462.

Phone sexy!

But if you replace that (800) with (518) (Albany’s area code)…

…you get the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services. Arcuri is a district attorney. When he got the phone sex number, he hung up, rather than performing record-time, Migliaccio-approved, self-gratification.
