Reynolds Foley Redux

Tom Reynolds is set to testify before the House Ethics Committee regarding what he knew about l’affaire Foley, and when he knew it.

What do we know?

1. Tom was told about emails from Foley that were creepy enough to prompt a male teenage page to go to his supervisor about it;

2. Tom did not investigate the matter;

3. Tom instead took it to his “supervisor”, whom he identified as Denny Hastert – not the voters of the 26th;

4. Tom did not take the matter to his chief-of-staff, who had been Foley’s chief-of-staff for 10 years – something that would have made perfect sense;

5. Tom’s NRCC took $100,000 from Foley without question;

6. Reynolds’ TOMPAC gave Foley $5,000 for his re-election bid.

7. Tom talked Foley into running this year – after he learned of the creepy emails.

Bad judgment, self-preservation, and the interests of the Republican majority over those of minor pages. That’s our Tom.
