I posted about it a few weeks ago. Saturn has revealed production versions of its newest vehicles – the ones that share a design language with GM’s mass-market European brand, Opel.
First up is the Saturn Outlook. Until now, we’ve only had a teaser pic. Now, you see the whole thing. The interior is phenomenal as compared with, say, the Chevy Equinox or Pontiac Torrent. The exterior – especially the front fascia – is such an incredible step forward for that marque.

I also posted a picture of the Opel Antara concept, and Saturn has its own rebadged concept called the “PreVue”; i.e., it’s the next Saturn Vue. (The Outlook has 3 rows and slots bigger.) The Vue has a face only a mother could love, even with the “freshening” it recently had, but the PreVue can’t come out fast enough.

Finally, and most significantly in this auto show season, Saturn releases the production version of the L300 replacement, the Aura. This car will compete directly with Camry, Passat, and Accord. If Saturn was originally created in the early 90s as an import-fighter, it has finally achieved its calling, by my estimation. Now, mate a 6-speed manual to the V6 in that car, or maybe a turbocharged 4, and Saturn will have a winner.

With this new Opel-style Saturn, GM should shift Saab out of Cadillac, and into Saturn showrooms. As new releases come out of New York, I’ll post & link.
