Battle of the Jackasses who agree with each other

Bauerle must have been listening to old tapes of Bob Grant; Grant loved using the trilogy “fake, phony, fraud” to label politicians with whom he disagreed.

Yesterday WBEN tried to re-create the magic of its Blitzkreig broadcast, and held the “battle of the talk show hosts”. Two conservatives and one centrist. Sounds like Fox News’ version of “balance”.

I tuned in and out because there’s only so much pontification to which one can listen at any one time. The one segment WBEN has uploaded (.wma) has to do with Hillary Clinton – and all three agreed that they don’t like her! Wow, what a dangerous and controversial position that is for an AM talk radio host.

Tim Wenger moderated, and when he brought up Hillary’s name, everyone groaned. Balance!

Bauerle:

Hillary Clinton is a fraud, Hillary Clinton is a phony, Hillary Clinton is in it for Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton only, Hillary Clinton is a disgrace as a Senator, Hillary Clinton is even losing support among the left wing of her own party because of her transparently pandering pro-war stance.

OK then. I like the “pandering” line, because she’s damned-if-she-does, damned-if-she-doesn’t. If she was for a pullout from Iraq, Bauerle would accuse her of transparent pandering to the left wing of her party.

Bauerle continues on a misogynistic rant about Hillary’s alleged power ambitions and how she never produced the 200,000 jobs, etc., etc.

Maybe Tom can explain why the Republican-controlled House, the Republican-controlled Senate, the Republican executive branch, and our guy Tom Reynolds haven’t done bugger-effing-all to bring 200,000 jobs or reverse the population drain, etc.? Easy to beat up on an easy target like Hillary Clinton. Much more difficult to explain the complete and utter failure that is the Republican federal government.

Bauerle punctuated his remarks with this:

Not only that, she’s a bitch.

Bauerle should be ashamed of that remark, frankly. So should Tim Wenger and the rest of WBEN.

Sandy Beach says she doesn’t make a good Senator, why would you want her as President.

Ron Dobson – the “liberal” – agrees that she’s pretty much sucked since 1993 when she tried to “horn in” on the health care issue. And she’s divisive. And she’s a carpetbagger, like that no-good Bobby Kennedy (Sandy Beach actually chimed in with that example).

I can’t tell who said it, but someone says,

Well, she got elected.

So did Marion Barry.

Let’s equate a former First Lady and current US Senator who, to my knowledge, has never been indicted or convicted of any crime, much less arrested, with a guy who smoked crack while Mayor of Washington, DC. Comparing apples and screwdrivers.

I guess Ron Dobson counts as the liberal voice because he doesn’t like George W. Bush.

What passes for discussion and debate for Tom “packin’ heat” Bauerle is to call Hillary Clinton a

pandering, evil phony

Then Beach says she’s the 800-pound elephant in the Democratic Party, which doesn’t know what to do with her.

Bob Grant used to refer to then-Mayor David Dinkins as the “elevator operator”.
