I know Spitzer doesn’t need another debate (because he’s going to win whether you like it or not).
I know Suozzi does need another debate (because he’s so far behind, any free airtime he can get is a positive).
I know Faso wants to show up, too, but this is about the (D) side of the aisle, and he should stand on the sidelines until it’s his turn.
The problem is that upstate New York was relegated to a one-question afterthought during the one debate that was held (and not aired on TV anywhere in the Buffalo market).
Even more surprising is that neither candidate really made any noise about upstate New York being relegated to a one-question afterthought. (e.g., no one said: “Let me say this. I think that the issues facing upstate New York are of tremendous importance, and that those issues deserve to be the focus of an entire, separate debate”).
Spitzer and Suozzi should debate at Channel 7 on August 28th.
And, in contrast with the Pace debate, the WKBW debate should be plastered all over five-boroughs/tri-state TVs so that they’re reminded that we exist.
