Illuzzi’s rumor last week about DiNapoli’s certain appointment was much better than the rumor on certain other sites about Buffalo having been secretly promised that it will host a Super Bowl. His site is actually becoming slightly less amateurish of late, at least comparatively speaking.

About the issue at hand here, it was just a political pissing contest on *both* sides.

Chopping the recommended list from five down to three was a pure political power play that Spitzer engineered by lobbying that selection committee at the last minute. Just silly one-ups-man-ship that was thrown back in his face.

Regarding complaints about DiNapoli’s lack of financial qualifications, is this from the same crowd here who supported lawyer Poloncarz for Erie County Comptroller last year instead of his non-politician opponent who had a very strong accounting background?

DiNapoli seems about as qualified for NYS comptroller as Poloncarz was for Erie Co. comptroller.

And actually Poloncarz seems to be doing a fine job here, so DiNapoli might as well, who knows. Mostly it’s the professional staff people of those offices who do the real work anyway.

If one of the three “finalists” had been chosen, that person would have owed at least some small debt of gratitude to Steam Roller at some point.

Pataki was a slug, Bruno is a putz and I don’t care for Spitzer at all, but I did like his idea. Silver on the other hand is a cancer; a true enemy of the state. He needs to be taken out.

Could someone please show me where, in Tom DiNapoli’s bio, it reflects any accounting or money management experience? I mean sheesh, he’s only going to be in charge of the states books!! Why worry? We’re great financial shape … Please call you representative and complain.

More of the same. I’m not one for messy and petty political battles, but I hope to God Spitzer puts the screws to every politician, Democrat and Republican, for this “same ‘ole, same ‘ole” routine. If there is justince anywhere it will spell the end of co-Govenors Bruno and Silver.
