without government backing -- tanks and artillery -- serb fighters would stand no chance against the nato forces in kosovo, not to mention whatever&#039;s left of the kla.

of course, given the mountain terrain and kosovo&#039;s tiny size, those tanks and artillery pieces could actually be located in serbia and still fire effectively enough to support ground operations on the ibar river.

my impression is that, at this juncture of history, the serbs are pretty much sick of getting their asses kicked.</description>
