We got Lawyers here, political activists and the whole gamut reading here.

Remember the “Burger Wars” of the 80’s? Two Burger King Girls on a backyard swing waving and saying “HI MCDONALD’S?”, while BK went on about NOT how good their burger was, but how BAD McDonald’s was.

Biggest fucking back-fire in the history of advertising. BK sales actually DROPPED. Studied it in Marketing (200 level) in college in 87.

So, Do Powers Supporters want to say—
JON POWERS IS THE MAN FOR THE JOB—AND WHY!!!
OR
JACK DAVIS IS AN ASSHOLE—BUT YOU ALREADY KNOW THAT.

Seems pretty clear.

Davis has given more than $10,000 to Brian Higgins (self-proclaimed blue collar, pro union Dem) since 2004. Does that negate the $1,000 he gave to Reynolds a decade ago?

I can’t seem to find the clip I saw on one of the local stations recently (last week, maybe) of Jon Powers meeting folks at a gas station to talk about, presumably, gas prices. He had a sound bite where he talked about windmills, but the story ended with footage and sound that reminded everyone of Jack Davis’s gas pump stunt where he fronted $$$ to reduce gas to $1.50/gallon a few weeks back.

Hudson’s right…Powers & his supporters need to talk about Powers.

If Davis Gave 1000.00 to Ron Paul in 1997, he was giving it to a RINO.
Paul’s a Libertarian, and a former Libertarian Presdiential Candidate.

The Republicans have their share of Problems, don’t lump Ron Paul in with them.

Chris, that’s a really good point and one I tried making before along the lines of what hudson was just saying. Jonny’s supporters are pre-occupied with running against Davis and Lee rather than running their own candidate. It’s all about how horrible Davis and Lee are because their rich and if you want to know anything about Jonny you have to check his website. Just from this site alone I know 10 times more about Chris Lee and 100 times more about Davis than I do about Jonny and it’s not all bad. A whole lot of it has just been petty and most people can see through it. All these attacks and constant posts against Davis are not really doing much to help Jonny, especially now that the horse has been beaten to death 10 times over.

Has Jonny done one single thing in the past 3 months that’s been newsworthy, other than getting endorsements from the establishment?

I don’t know if this is how his entire campaign is being run, but it’s all I’ve seen, even in the Buffalo News. Powers is doing a horrible job introducing and defining himself and he’s been in the race the longest. He should be well beyond that stage already.

Mike – Thanks for asking. I am the photographer who took that picture at the Clarence Labor Day Parade in 2006. So, I own the copyright to it.

Also, the “Say No To Jack Davis” website does not in any way mimic Davis’ own campaign site.

what i want to know is who holds the copyright on that picture of jack davis? did the powers supporters here and at “say no to jack davis” just steal it? because, as you guys pointed out yesterday, such a thing would not only be very mean it might be illegal!

or not.

and doesn’t the “say no to jack davis” web site look suspiciously like a pro-davis web site until you read what’s on it? as you guys pointed out yesterday that would be politics at its worst!

so a campaign contribution made 12 years ago now becaomes “news” in the sense that it should influence how someone might vote today? that is just weak.

and chris, the reason jon “no” powers has zero name recognitions is that his supporters — you — spend all your time writing about jack davis, who, as you point out today, has tremendous name recognition.

Jack Davis has now spent three elections papering his district with signage and mailers. He has made huge radio and TV buys and has a thorough and viral web presence. I’d bargain that his name recognition is as higher or higher than the incumbent he seeks to replace. His stunts generate news and blog coverage and it seems the “netroots” spend more time talking about Davis than Powers. Which means the strategy for Powers is flawed.

Jon Powers has the “Powers Platoon” and a “grassroots” organization that has done little to brand the candidate. I don’t live in the district, so I don’t know what he’s done mailer-wise, but I’m disappointed with their ability to generate news coverage of the candidate and their seeming disinterest in developing the candidate name recognition.

As it stands right now, I would suspect that polling would show Jack with a lead or at least pretty close to Powers.
