Volker must go. He is my state senator and after a thousand years in office all he does is take up space and suck air. Time for some new blood.

Its these self entitled leaches at the local and state level that are destroying the future of your city. I know there everywhere in some numbers but this somehow seems more prevalent in upstate and albany politics and even businesses. No wonder people like the mayor have to rejoice when Labatt USA brings a meager 30 some jobs to the city. Or that Buffalo is now the 3rd poorest big city instead of the second.

If the populace wants progress they should vote every one of these old stale and all too familiar faces out of office and make room for someone who is not simply in it for the perks and notoriety. Thats hurdle number one toward any real progress. It needs to happen.

Harry Wahl is also formerly the Republican chief of staff of the Erie County Legislature. He resigned in May 2005 rather than take a pay cut after the red/green budget cuts. His wife works for the County's Department of Real Property Tax Services as the 'number 2' official.

I have long been of the opinion that those who are elections commissioners should not practice before elected judges: http://www.speakupwny.com/article_3086.shtml

Such appearances of impropriety reflect badly on the political process and the judicial process.

It is good that Mr. Clark took action.

dtwarren- I was sitting in Frank Clark's office when he said "Ralph Mohr serves at my pleasure" and then Mohr was removed from the case. Seems it was Mr. Clarks awareness that shed light on the issue.

What is also troubling is that until recently the prosecutor was Ralph Mohr the Replublican Elections Commissioner. I spoke of this apparent conflict of interest at: http://www.speakupwny.com/forums/showpost.php?p=365979&postcount=49 and then I saw: http://www.eastaurora.org/article.aspx?artno=829 where after all this time some one finally saw the light.

I am a lifelong Republican, but this type of activity and appearance is bad and should be avoided.

Why hasn’t EVERYONE picked this up?

It’s not anything new.

My experience with politics is. I was completely naive. Six months ago I was a different person. My life and that of my family is not better because for the experiences and people we have met. We have been threatened and stalked. Our personal lives have been violated and people have tried to limit our rights. All because I attended a public announcement!

Whether it is a theory or a fact, I’m not sure, but some say that constant exposure to violence desensitizes people. Child experts will argue that kids who play non stop violent video games will be emotionally unaffected when they see real pictures of war or they will respond “cool.” I challenge you to ask a political operative what he/she thinks of all the circumstances that surround my husband’s campaign. Some of them may uncontrollably smile and those with no restraint will clap. Dirty tricks, threats and coercion are what operatives and politicians refer to as “just politics.” They are like children who have no boundaries and a skewed scene of right and wrong based on constant exposure to things that cross the line.
