Good Morning / Open Thread

Hey, guess what? I’m busy this morning. So consider this an open thread where you discuss and bitch and moan about whatever crap you read in the paper or from watching Mary Friona stand in the snow on the morning news.

Tomorrow, I’m participating in a forum being organized by SUNY Fredonia (two words: lake effect) Professor (and former Buffalo News scribe) Elmer Ploetz. On the panel with me will be Bob McCarthy.

We’ve had the most beautiful autumn and the national tv cameras are here for a snowstorm. He comes the inappropriate snow capital of the world designation to the rest of the country. (Sigh.) It wouldn’t be so bad if the Bills don’t embarrass!

Too bad they didn’t build that stadium in Tonawanda.

Once more I see huge snow clouds north of us and south of us. I am going to clean my pond and finish raking my leaves in beautiful sunshine. I noticed this type of weather now firmly established over the past three or four years. We go about our normal lives and in the evening news are astounded by the videos of the snow clogged roads especially south of the Buffalo River.

It is sad though. Some of the children in my neighborhood didn’t have enough snow to build snow men all last winter. Another traditional skill that will be soon lost.

We didnt have many snowmen, it was snow forts and during the 77 event we had tunnels.(hogans heroes was on 29 at the time) I guess the liberals wont let kids have snow forts with wars anymore, hank must be right.

heard a great line on real time this weekend dealing with the gay marriage issue out west, mormons pissed of the “joe fudgepacks”

@hap – I am sure there is some online/internet based “build your own virtual snowman” that will replace building snowmen in the yard! bonus – you don’t have to wait to drink the hot chocolate!
