RoboCall About Mesi

I just received an anti-Mesi RoboCall from 201-257-4001. So far, the only thing I can find is that the number has been used to hawk DirectTV in the past, and that the number is based out of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. There was no message at the end of the call to indicate who had paid for or authorized it.

Calls made to Mesi campaign and Ranzenhofer campaign offices were not answered.

    What are the state requirements for identifying the source of payment for robocalls? We got a call with the same script for our district (SD59) against Konst. So is this the state GOP or state GOP Senate Committee? The amount of slime dumped on Konst, given her not-so-hot poll numbers, has surprised me. I don’t think she would be all that close without it, as Volker has a stranglehold in the rural counties.

    There are no laws specifically regulating robocalls in any way in NYS.

    Don’t lie and that’s basically it.

    No attribution necessary.

    I just received a very disturbing call from the same number, but I’m in a NYC Senate race that’s fairly contested. The republicans have been throwing a great deal of mud, and this message just readily endorsed the democratic candidate because he would support the rights of gays and lesbians if he got in office. I am pro gay-rights, and I’m sure the dem candidate is to a certain degree, but he has not made such statements publicly, nor would it be a major issue (to the positive) here in the this district.

    This seems like a very underhanded robo-call and I’m really kind of angry at this attack method.

    weird. not in the mesi district but got several calls from that same number. i was aggrevated since i was giving the kids a tub. 1 got three calls. i’ll have to check the messages. i wonder…

    i just recieved a call from 8019430000 it was targeted against brian grear a long shot canidate for state senate what a slimy party those rep

    I actually own a robo dial machine and there are surprisingly few laws regarding political robo dialing.

    I got a call from a real, live person asking me to vote for Mesi. When I asked her what party he was with, she told me she didn’t know.
