Top Gear is always a blast to watch. There was an article in PopSci Mag about the Tesla electric, but no real mention of where electricity comes from (it ani’t clean). The Top Gear guys at least hinted at that aspect. The money-guy heading this project is the guy who sold PayPal to EBay for a billion-zillion dollars.
The long-range idea of millions of cars charging on an already overwhelmed, coal-fired elec grid really doesn’t add up to a solution.
Cool car, though.

I also thought the second comment, by hophead or tintube or whatever was of interest re: the electric question.
Damn. Cool car–for about 45 minutes until reality hits home.
Top Gear is one of the best produced shows on TV. If “60 Minutes” did this bit I’d have to stick safety pins through my palms to stay awake.
OMG I love Top Gear! This is the first time I’ve seen it referenced by anyone I know who I did not personally force to watch it. My best friend was hooked after Jeremy accidentally set the “caravan” on fire while cooking potatoes … and the Miami-to-New Orleans episode is some of the best TV I have ever seen.
I don’t even care about cars.
The question: Will it catch on in the U.S. or is it just too damned British?
