Buffalo’s City Honors was ranked as the 11th best high school in the country by Newsweek magazine. But that’s not the only good news,

Superintendent James Williams sees this as validation of the changes he’s implemented, including:

Williams had absolutely NOTHING to do with this! Thanks go to the staff, students and parents. The smoke and mirrors he refers to are nothing more than that. The extended day is staffed by teacher aides, nothing academic is done. Longer year is another joke. It’s called summer school and the kids never show up. He is such a piece of garbage it is disgusting.
All this shows is that in spite of Mr. Williams, good things are happening.
It was the 4th best school in the country in 2006.
Not to take anything away from City Honors, because it is a wonderful school…
But if you get to pick only the top 1% of the city school population, of course you end up with an awesome school. You get to weed out everyone who isn’t at the top of the academic food chain while teaching only the best and the brightest.
Yes, they do a great job with those kids when they get there, but they are hardly a traditional public school.
BTF lover, with their advanced education, should know that ultimate reponsibility lies with the Superintendent. They take the heat when there are problems, and they get the glory when things go well. It’s the nature of the system.
Notice that this teacher’s handle says they love the UNION.
Not the JOB (actually a vocation), Not the STUDENTS.
Nope, this person LOVES THE BUFFALO TEACHERS FEDERATION.
Quite a mouthful without ever writing a word.
Hank,
Mr. Williams has a mail order diploma. He is a sham. Why do you think the offer was yanked in Memphis.
We should all be loving unions. If only everyone had health care, decent pay, safe work places etc.. this country would be great again. We have become a third world country. Thanks to the POS in Washington, we are the joke of the world.
Yes … clearly Williams deserves the credit.
Hank is upset because Autozone hasn’t unionized and he is subjected to the brow-beatings administered by his 17 year old manager. Hankie … can you recommend a good car wax ? Thanks buddy !
