A Word of Advice for Syaed Ali

Not that I’ve met or spoken with the guy, but maybe he ought to listen to his lawyer and keep his mouth shut for even just a little minute. Seriously.

  1. Am I the only person around who could care less about getting involved with this guy or his case??

Let’s see, the mission of Buffalo First, according to a channel 7 report back in October is to elminate Byron Brown from office.

His first try with fake press releases and false claims of a sex tape..FAIL

    So on to step two:

Finding a reporter who hates Byron Brown, and get them to listen ti your sob story of abduction.

Between both websites, the guy can’t even keep his story straight.

  2. Mr.Justice says:

This guys story is pretty straight. They first denied having any knowledge of such an investigation, than said its an on going investigation, and that they routinely investigate matters involving the mayor whether it is a political or regular threat overall “. Now the Mayor’s security detail “says their is a serious threat to the mayor”. Brownie’s half truths has remained inconsistent, because it is a lie.

  3. Starbuck says:

watchdog’s skepticism about this guy might turn out to be justified, and I don’t automatically believe the claims about what cops supposedly said to him as related in Artvoice and mini-Illuzzi.

But what I do wonder about is whether there was reasonable justification for the search warrant. Let’s see the affidavit referred to in the search warrant publicly released (the affidavit hasn’t been released yet, right?) and we’ll see if that lines up with what DeGeorge has publicly said so far about alleged threats.

  4. Becky says:

Where does it say that if a guy has done some questionable things in the past against a political figure that he can’t later be a victim of a vendetta of sorts?

If Ali were delusional the police could have cleared things up by now rather than block inquiries at every turn.

As to why he doesn’t shut up about it – maybe he just wants his stuff back (I don’t know the guy and don’t really recall having heard at the time about his previous efforts to discredit Brown). That said, the articles are repetitious no matter which publication and need a fresh view or different angle.

  5. Dick Kern says:

It is now over 12 weeks since police confiscated 10-12 garbage bags of Ali famiy possessions, including several thousands in cash & uncashed checks . . . .& his mother’s purse.

Obviously most of the items taken were not covered in the search warrant, but they have not been returned.

In the context of this incredible police caper, Byron Brown’s closing comments in his State of the City speech are troubling . . .

    From Bflo News:
He ended his speech with an admonition.”And to those who try to impede our progress, we will not be turned back, we will not be stopped, we will not be discouraged in our mission to keep moving our great city forward,” he said.

When a reporter later asked him if he was referring to specific people or groups, the mayor wouldn’t elaborate. (end quote)

I have finally seen the anonymous “gay-sex” emails that “made the Mayor very mad”, which police apparently believe Syaed, despite his denials, sent.

The emails are disgusting, but hardly a threat to the Mayor’s “safety” justifying the dramatic trampling of the Ali’s family’s basic rights.

Why have the emails not been published? They could put this whole matter in clearer context.

  6. Dick Kern says:

Channel 4 has also finally (superficially) covered this troubling issue.

One again, Syaed has not shown his face, on recommendation of his atty, as I understand.

“Watchdog”, I do not understand why you are untroubled by the dramtic violation of privacy of Syaed’s other three family members & blatantly illegal confiscation of their property over 12 weeks ago . . all on the search warrant of a City Court Judge ( & Very close friend of the mayor, appointed to his seat by the Mayor) . . .who ‘cannot remember’ if he signed the search warrant.

I find it highly hypocritical for anonymous attackers to challenge the integrity of others. “Watchdog”, you have very strong opinions about other’s failings. Why do you not say who you are?

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Buffalo man says he’s being unfairly targeted by Buffalo Police over alleged threats against Mayor Byron Brown.

He says police raided his Breckenridge Street home back in November.
He says police took his computer, business records, cell phones, even his mothers purse.

“They told my family this all because I made the mayor mad,” said Syaed Ali.

“This goes beyond name calling. This goes beyond falsely or criminally impersonating somebody. And police are looking into that possibilty,” said Buffalo Police Spokesman, Mike DeGeorge.

So far, no charges have been filed.

  7. WNYMedia says:

    Sorry Dick, Its Marc.

Thought everyone knew by now buffalowatchdog was me but anyways…

To cause this much stir over some fake emails?? It makes no sense, common or political.

When you were harassed, it was based on truth(s) that you exposed. When I was harassed it was based on truth(s) that I exposed.

Logic tells me either the gay sex is true or there is more to his story that he isn’t saying.

Now I saw the emails, and all of them were ridiculously false on all levels. Which leads me to believe that Ali isn’t telling the whole truth…

    That’s all I’m saying…
