Condolences to community and housing activist Michele Johnson, who tragically and suddenly lost her son James this past weekend. Michele used to blog and host a radio show on WNYMedia, she is involved with Buffalo ReUse, teamed up with Marc Odien to produce Flipped, and has been a volunteer housing court liaison for years. All of this she does for very little, if any, remuneration.
I’ll have further details as they’re revealed, but I’d like to make special mention of Assemblyman Sam Hoyt, who has been supportive of Michele’s work. Sam has arranged for Amigone Funeral Home on Sheridan near Parker to handle arrangements, but there will be costs involved and some sort of fundraiser to help allay these costs will be organized in the very near future.
