Collins’ Election Night

Last night, legislative and sheriff’s candidates paid fealty to the lord of Erieshire Manor.  But here’s a question: which do you think Chris Collins would prefer?

a) a 15-member Democratic legislature; or

b) Mark Poloncarz in a second term as Comptroller, poised to possibly challenge him for CE in 2011?

I think Kadet’s loss was particularly bitter for Collins – that’s the prize he really wanted.  The rest was just frosting on the cake.

Collins wanted this and the dems wanted that. Everyone wanted power and control and the ability to shut out the other side in decision making. In the end the public decided that the middle was where they wanted to be. Collins and Polancarz can check and balance each other. The leg is more evenly divided.

    Let;s see what happens.

As long as we have this pervasive “us and them” mentality regarding politics, we will all be losers under this out of control government. Unfortunately, when “us” looks in the mirror he sees “them”.

  3. Ehh, I’d go the other way around. The Comptroller is a pain in the media and at press conferences. Its the Leg that has been throwing him incomprehensible, union-hand out drivel for the last two years. And if Prop 1 passes, that may be an even bigger deal.

Agree Brian. Comptroller is very annoying. The worst kind. He thinks he is sophisticated and high minded but is really petty and oh so political. He is a nice guy though even if a bit awkward and nerdy. The things he audits couldn’t be any smaller yet he unveils them as though he has found Atlantis

Thank goodness we got Poloncarz…can you imagine this Chris Collins with no check and balance. I am waiting for him to fall again…there’s something so mistrusting about him…he reminds me of a time bomb just waiting to explode. It’s about the same time Joel began his fall isn’t it? Sandy Beach, get ready. This guy will fail…anyone who hates people that need services and wants to increase the unemployment rate is sick, simply sick.
