Ladies and Gentlemen, the Tea Party Movement

A group called the Chicago Tea Party Patriots publicly heckled a grieving family and suggested that the couple fabricated their tragic story.

At a town hall held by Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.) on Nov. 14,, Dan and Midge Hough spoke about how they believed the death of their daughter-in-law and her unborn child were caused, in part, by a lack of health insurance. Twenty-four-year old Jennifer was uninsured. According to her in-laws, she was not receiving regular prenatal care and was not properly treated when she got sick. She ended up in an emergency room with double pneumonia that developed into septic shock, had a heart attack, a brain bleed and a stroke. The baby died and Jennifer died a few weeks later.

Midge Hough was heckled by anti-reform crowd members. “You can laugh at me, that’s okay,” she said, crying. “But I lost two people, and I know you think that’s funny, that’s okay.”

That is nothing compared to the union thugs outside the building where I voted asking me If I was voting for Corzine and when I said are you kidding me they got in my face( which I laughed 8 degree blackbelt in Akido and 6th degree blackbelt in wing chun and a 2 tour iraq vet)then they mentioned they know what car I got out of and they wrote down my license and a bunch of words I won’t repeat and a bunch of things they were going to do to me!! Now that is attacking!!!! Lucky for them they didn’t touch me or my car because I was in a mood to break something after that!!! You won’t see that stuff on Oberman, Maddow, huffington Post of the Ed show? Will you!!!!

    There are 4 non-profit centers in Chicago for pregnant women to receive prenatal care and other medical services. I am sure there are other programs. Blaming these death(s) on the lack of “free” government insurance is ridiculous. The girl did not take responsibility to take care of herself.

    As MIke Rebmann stated—-in this country, there are plenty of places for the poor—who shouldn’t be having babies for the rest of us to take care of anyway, to get low cost or free pre-natal care. OB’s who have the guts to work the clinics often do it pro bono for a tax write off—IF their malpractice insurance allows them to. Then you always have the dandy liberal option of just killing the fetus and being done with it.

    I’ve seen many people die, more than a couple in my arms, and one of them a newborn, so I have a healthy respect for human life. However, when you die because you were to ignorant to: 1. Seek the free care available in your area, or 2.go get an abortion for a child you can’t afford to raise in the first place, who should we blame? The woman, her dumbass parents who should have helped her, both, George W Bush, or anyone who’s fucking handy? It’s not funny—not at all. It’s pathetic. And it has ZERO to do with the government taking over health insurance so it can run like the Post Office or fucking AMTRAK.

    so now, in the land of obamamaniacs, polls released by rasmussen and gallup are no longer valid? i sure didn’t here that here last november, when this site contained more polling data than the democratic headquarters. if fact, i’ve never heard it. tell me chris, why do news organizations, politicians and political parties pay these firms millions of dollars every year if polls are essentially worthless, as you seem to argue? or are you merely so lost in unreality that you only believe data that supports your own, narrow point of view?

      Did I say that the poll was invalid? I simply mentioned some information about the sample population used in polling. You are the one who extrapolated the poll might not be truly representative of America.

      Somehow you also gathered that I live in the “land of obamamaniacs” and have a “narrow point of view.” It seems that while I have a functioning “shift” key on my computer, you have a crystal ball that can tell you everything about a person through the internet.

      Why do news organizations pay millions of dollars for polls? Because they are lazy and allow print organizations to churn out thousands of “horse-race” narrative stories that fill up inches and take no real effort or knowledge or deep analysis to write. They allow the beautiful talking-heads to make vapid noise with the appearance of wisdom. Because instead of talking about the real narrative here, which is a seemingly growing group of people who have lost all sense of shame, respect for the democratic process, and civility shouting down a mourning woman in a scene representative of these hateful thugs, we are talking about one number about one man. That is why polls are created, to distract simple minds from weighty matters.

      1.) The real narrative of this thread is the growing movement of uncivil goons who think it’s their right to shout down and insult anyone who disagrees with them. Re-read, or read, rather, the post.

      2.) More absurd reasons for news organizations to commission polls than the one I put forward in my post:

      A: Calling people during dinner is the only human contact John Zogby ever receives.
      B: NBC is building a rocketship to Mars powered by bar graphs
      C: Polls are part of a Lenininst-Marxist-Islamo-Fascist Kenyan plot to destroy America from the inside.

      3.) I realize that attacking someone on their strengths worked for W in 2004, but calling me a moron isn’t going to work here, sorry. You lose.
