Law & Order: SPU

Brian Davis has rapidly become the most hilarious elected official in all of western New York. No one else can match his level of personal and professional failures and breaches of ethics.

When the FBI and DA’s office comes to hunt you down at your work because they “just want to talk”, it’s like a replay of something out of Law & Order: Special Politicians’ Unit

The Leonard Stokes connection pretty much guarantees that there will be some splashback on the newly re-elected, uncontested Mayor-for-Life–who will likely tab the investigation “dirty politics”.

I read The Snooze Article, as well as the 37 (at the time) comments from readers.

I don’t know if I agree with Alan with “hiliarious”, unless you want to laugh to keep from crying.
There are facts involved here that cause these types of situations to take place. 1. Buffalo is, for better or worse, completely dominated by the Democratic Party, and has been for 48 of the last 52 years. 2. African Americans overwhelmingly vote Democrat. 3. In primary or general elections, African Americans will turn out in larger numbers if there are AA candidates on the ballot, and will vote for the AA candidate, regardless of credentials, past record of service, or personal/public issues and scandals attached. This allows AA pols like Byron Brown, Antoine Thompson and the aforementioned criminal Davis to get elected to office, and be re-elected time after time. And as awful as it is, voting for someone not because of record, experience, qualifications, or education just because his skin is the same color as yours, is not just racism, it’s totally fucking stupid.

So true Hank….after all, look at the debacles of Presidents Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton (/snark).
You should stick to subjects you’re more knowledgeable about – trannies and rubber.

The fact that Brian Davis wasn’t at work isn’t really news. I worked down the hall from Davis’ office for the last two years and it would be generous to say I saw him twice. His entire office kept extremely irregular and infrequent hours.

The councilmember I worked for actually got calls from Davis’ constituents who needed help. They’d say, “I was told to call my councilmember, but I don’t have one!” This was before Stokesgate. Colin wrote about this when Rivera was on the news talking about a crime that happened in Davis’ district.
