Another Weekend, More EC Sheriff Department Shenanigans

Can’t I go away for one weekend, without some self imploding shenanigans from Sheriff Tim Howard and his grossly mismanaged Erie County Sheriff’s Office?

an inmate who escaped inside the Erie County Holding Center was captured from the facility’s roof late this afternoon, after a standoff during which police cordoned off the area and spectators watched from the sidewalk below.At least 20 emergency vehicles cordoned off an area between Church Street, West Eagle Street, Lower Terrace, and Franklin Street.

Spectators on the sidewalk watched as the man stood on a roof at least eight stories high, waving to people and making gestures to sheriff’s deputies and police officers.

Tim, It’s time to do the taxpaying citizens of Erie County a favor and resign.

    Might there be some rogue Deputies trying to make Howard look bad? Someone really needs to question this Deputy. Forgot to lock his cell? Smells very fishy…

    Yup. I’m sure it’s another conspiracy to tarnish the name of Tim Howard [/sarcasm]
    The deputy only had 3 cells /inmates to watch. The inmate shoved tar from the roof into the locking mechanism because he knew the Dep never checked the doors, and that he lkeft the block without relief for his lunch break. The genius put the keys and his radio in the desk drawer and left the gallery unattended. The inmate opens his cell, grabs the keys and radio, and then somehow (keys to outside on the ring ? A huge corrections no no) makes his way through several locked doors to the caged rec area (which has a hole in it – sound familiar ?), climbs through the hole and remains undetected for hours. The Dep knew the radio was gone before he knew the inmate was missing. This guy had jumped from the 2nd story window of BPD 2 years ago. If he had actually planned it better and had some sheets to tie together he would have been GONE, Howard was a deer in the headlights again, stammering and stuttering – I couldn’t make sense of 90% of what he said. What a pathetic sight watching the inmate traipse back and forth waving and rapping on the stolen radio. Seeing as how the deputy will most likely get fired, I’m pretty sure it was poor oversight and not a case of deliberate sabotage, in fact- why would anyone have to do that, Howard takes care of that himself. I’m sure it will come out that Brian Collins is a democrat and this was just another political attack on poor sheriff Howard.

    I can’t wait for the day when i can be proud once again that I work for the ECSO. It’s gonna take years to fix what Howard has ruined……

    Marc, can we expect to see a commercial with Glascott trying to explain the previous escape of a Cheektowaga inmate and suicide in his jail? If he can’t manage that small jail, how in hell will he manage the Holding center?
