There is something to be said for a candidate who actually runs their own campaign. However, at least two of the candidates being funded by the anti-Semite County Executive get zero points for originality.
Trying to blanket all incumbents as “career politicians” is usually a good strategy. When you are actually running against career politicians.
That has been the goal of the “Collins four”. So far its pretty much failed as most of their opponents are only in their first or second terms in the County Legislature. It usually only works if you are actually running against career politicians, like say, Dale Volker.
It’s one thing to try and blanket these incumbents with one net. But its another to use the same mailer and just change some names. It seems to lose its credibility. Although the Jew Hating County Executive has done a pretty good job of that on his own lately.
Two mailers paid for by the New York Republican State Commttee is a perfect example of why blanket political tactics just don’t work in a small city like Buffalo. One from the restaurantuer who serves underage employees Shelly Schratz and one from my dear friend Lynn Dixon, who unfortunately got tied up in this election cycle which is turning into nothing more than a Chris Collins’ ego trip.
Here is the fronts:
Here is the backs:
Nice try, but it really loses its effectiveness when you put someone elses name on it and call it a day. Not only is it lazy, its also lacks the serious originality I look for in my candidates.
But that’s the problem with just about all Republicans these days… lack of originality.

Seems to me there is a vast difference between being anti-semetic and being plain stupid. I am astounded at Collins comments, but trying to make this a racial issue is pathetic. Let me hack you a quote ascribed to some Jewish guy: “Only two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the universe.” Of course, you’re illustrating that point nicely. http://www.wivb.com/dpp/news/politics/Collins_remarks_send_shock_waves_20091026
Joking about SS as an antichrist is in poor taste, yes, but heaven help us when you can’t even insult a jew, who happens to be a career politician, without being called anti-semetic.
Yeah, it’s not “insulting a jew” that’s “anti-semetic”. It’s calling him the anti-Christ and comparing him to Hitler that’s anti-Semitic.
That is not the best scripture to quote seeing that most jews DO deny Jesus is the Christ, just saying
