Kearns offers alternative to city’s poor administration

I wanted to give this article Carl sent me some attention. Carl is my friend and he, like me cannot stand nor will tolerate incompetent, power hungry fools like that which run City Hall. Way to go Carl.

Mickey Kearns, a homegrown boy, is running for mayor in the Democratic Primary on Tuesday and your family’s future depends on your vote.
We must end our decline and complacent acceptance of mediocrity, respect the horror of parents sending their children elsewhere for a job and stop electing the same incompetents and opportunists who have no experience or ability. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result each time.


City Hall is wrought with endemic corruption and incompetence. Mayor Byron Brown sees our nightly murders as a photo op. He stonewalls the Common Council and press on the release of public records, but claims transparency. He met HUD’s scathing audit report by crying to Washington to silence HUD’s Steve Banko. Devoid of any vision or plan, he’s never even criticized the train wreck in Albany.

Just when you think you have an ally in a State Senator he does something stupid like this. Espada? George, Espada? I have more respect for my toilet bowl than I do for that corrupt ass Espada. Not only patronage jobs but a no show job for his son, openly screwing the taxpayers by taking state funds, funneling them into places where he benefits like the health clinics or where ever the hell it is.

So we have no allies, none, zilch, nada. So much for getting rid of the tolls at the Grand Island Bridges. Thompson, vacant in the brain and vacant in the toll fight. Bye George, thanks for nothing.

Last spring when the roses were in bloom and an old man’s fancy turned toward backroom coups and power grabs, Senator George Maziarz was posing to anyone who would listen as the Prince of Reform, the White Knight of Niagara who was leading a crusade against patronage and corruption, despite the fact that he has placed more cronies in cushy state jobs than most residents of the Governor’s Mansion.

These days, however, his credentials as a political virgin are more and more starting to fray, especially now that word has leaked out about a fundraiser being held for his benefit later this month in New York City, hosted by that other paragon of Albany rectitude, Senator Pedro Espada. You remember Pedro, he’s that other great Patron Saint of Good Government who is currently being investigated by no less than three Grand Juries in his native Big Apple for offenses ranging from campaign finance irregularities to general financial irregularities to residency violations.

The very same Albany politician who recently tried to get his son and namesake, Pedro Espada Jr., an $120,000 a year job on his staff.

New York is gaining a pretty piss poor reputation across the country and this latest stint by Congresswoman Louise Slaughter just infuriates me and thousands of others. She will not give us a forum, “Those People” What people? US? The taxpaying citizens of her very district? What an insult. Louise Slaughter is NOT royalty, she is a life long, career politician that could care less about what WE think.

I was leaving federal issues alone to focus on this god forsaken state, but on this insult by Slaughter I will not ignore.
I am more than happy to get on as much national media as I can to expose her as incompetent and she should resign in disgrace.

Look at this will you…..! Is our money candy? This is our tax dollars being thrown around like candy. In the midst of a fiscal crisis, a deficit over 2 billion$$ and Thompson thinks this is a good thing? Paterson the same way, 5 million to build new housing in Nia Falls when there is a 21% vacancy rate. Same crap in Buffalo and the Falls from Thompson. 5.7 Million another 5 Million for “Private Investment” to redo vacant buildings for apartments? All that would be good IF THERE WAS PEOPLE TO PUT IN THEM! Then on Grand Island, 1 million to renovate the dilapidated Dunlop bldg? For years we have been trying to tear that asbestos building down, now Thompson wants to hire his crony unions to renovate? What bullshit.

Our tax dollares should not be used like this in good times never mind when we are in fiscal straits like we are now created by these same bozos that are spending us into oblivion.

Sass, president and chief executive officer of Family&Children’s Service of Niagara, as work began on the agency’s $2.2 million project at 1522 Main St.Family&Children’s Service has raised more than $1.8 million for the Main Street Family Center since purchasing the property last year.The site will serve as the home office of the agency and as a “One Stop Family Center” consolidating 60 staff members now at five locations across a 10-block area in the Falls.In addition to support from the City of Niagara Falls and several state representatives, early funding partners include the John R. Oishei Foundation $500,000; the Grigg-Lewis Foundation $300,000; and Patrick P. Lee Foundation $100,000.Also, the Maid of the Mist Corp. $100,000; the James H. Cummings Foundation $50,000; the M&TCharitable Foundation $50,000; and $10,000 from both the Western New York Foundation and the Bank of America Foundation.

Mayor Brown “Sick of Talking About” Alleged Incident

Brown was surely trying to keep this under wraps and quiet before the election. Sure this is all about the election but is also about crimes and misuse and mis-allocation of taxpayer funds. I have known Byron Brown for years, first as my senator. As senator he did nothing for this district, he only used it to jump into the mayors race and Mr Green bought Brown that seat. Notice he has not gotten the Democrat endorsement either time he ran. That’s another story altogether.

One Sunset has been covered up, the amount of tax dollars exposed at only 180,000 is just the tip of the iceberg. We paid people to do work there, to do the books and every other thing imaginable. Brown. Gibson and the rest need to be exposed for what they are and defeated.

Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, visibly agitated, walked away from reporters Tuesday as they continued to ask him questions about an alleged incident involving him in 2007.

For the second consecutive day, 2 On Your Side gave Mayor Brown an opportunity to deny the allegations that surfaced in a published report. Those allegations suggested he helped a well-connected city entrepreneur get out of trouble with police more than two years ago.

He did not deny the any of the specific allegations during a press conference after an event he attended Tuesday morning.

“I’m looking at everybody in the eye and saying nothing was done that was wrong,” Brown said as he walked away from reporters, who continued to ask questions about Leonard Stokes.

According to a recent Buffalo News story, in 2007 Stokes was picked up by police outside the Ellicott Square building for allegedly using a stolen handicap parking tag. The reports says police were ordered to bring Stokes to the Mayor’s Office at City Hall, where he was later set free.

A political race that few expected to be a challenge is now closer than anyone imagined.

Yes it is and it is even better if you think about it. In this report they clearly state that this poll was taken before the exposure of Browns direct connection to Stokes and One Sunset. So where does this actually stand? I think Kearns is ahead and hope we will see a new mayor elected next week. Go Mickey!

2 On Your Side commissioned an independent poll from SurveyUSA in the Democratic primary for Buffalo Mayor. According to the results of that poll, incumbent Mayor Byron Brown and South District Common Council Member Michael Kearns are in a statistical dead heat.

According to our scientific 2 On Your Side and SurveyUSA poll, Brown has 48% of the vote, Kearns has 47%, and 5% are undecided.

There is a 4.2% margin of error.

580 likely voters in the City of Buffalo were part of the telephone survey last Wednesday and Thursday.

When you breakdown the numbers and look at the demographics, Brown leads among women 51% to Kearns’ 43%. Among men, however, Kearns leads Brown 52% to 44%.

The divide is even deeper among race. Brown leads Kearns 86% to 13% among black voters. While Kearns leads among white voters 64% to 29%.

Two key issues also split voters. When asked about creating jobs in Buffalo, 56% select Brown over 39% for Kearns. But on the controversial topic of One Sunset 86% choose Kearns over 12% for Brown.

And it is worth pointing out again that this poll was conducted last Wednesday and Thursday, before new allegations about preferential treatment being given to the now-defunct restaurant’s owner Leonard Stokes.

I was invited on Cavutos show Friday Sept 4th 2009 to discuss how Congresswoman Louise Slaughter and her telling us, her constituents that she will not give us a forum. I am one of “Those People” that she and others have labeled trouble and are causing disturbances at Town Hall Meetings.

We are peaceful people, simply looking for answers to our questions. Union thugs and members of the Working Familes Party (read: Unions) have been confrontational, and have tried to instigate arguments, but we have not “reacted.” Just another example of being accused of the very thing they’re guilty of.
