Unions Want End Of Buffalo Control Board

WBEN 930 : Unions Want End Of Buffalo Control Board
Buffalo, NY (WBEN) – City unions have had enough and they are planning a push to get rid of Buffalo’s control board. They say a raise denied to a small group of workers is the last straw.

The Buffalo Control Board at its last meeting denied a three percent raise for 215 summer food workers. Bill Travis, head of AFSCME Local 264, tells NewsRadio 930 WBEN the entire raise would have cost the city just $10,000.

Travis says enough is enough, and he along with other union leaders are now calling for an end to the control board.

Buffalo Teachers Federation President Phil Rumore says union leaders will be lobbying the state legislature to bring an end to the control board. They do not believe the city’s financial struggles are at crisis level.

Of course they want the control board gone, they cannot control it as they do the politicians. The Buffalo control board has been doing a great job getting the finances of the city in order. I love the fact that they can take the mayors budget and send it back and tell him to do it again. It reminds me of elementary school.

The unions have controlled the city, county and state politicians for years and years and we are on the brink of financial collapse statewide because of their demands.
