Paterson HAS intervened on behalf of Diane Dixon

This came from a new blog downstate… I am not saying he is guilty or not, all I want is answers…. He started on the right foot, now he has to come clean here too. Don’t blow it Mr. Paterson, admit everything.

“On 2/15/08, the coordinator received a phone call from Lt. Gov. David Paterson recommending Ms. Dixon for the CEC [Community Education Council] specialist position,” the department said in a detailed statement describing the events
surrounding Dixon’s job offer.

David Paterson Must Go

The New York City Department of Education confirmed yesterday that Gov. Paterson HAS intervened on behalf of Diane Dixon to get her a job that she had apparently been turned down for.

About that same time she told the New York Post she had tape recordings proving her close relationship with him.

This information has just been released by the New York City Department of Education.

    Two things here:

1 – It may just be me, but doesn’t it seem like the blog we are referencing may have a wee bit of a bias against Mr. Paterson? You know, with the title and all.

2 – I may be mistaken, but doesn’t just about every job require some sort of recommendation? It seems ridiculous that a person such as Mr. Paterson would be forced to give up the ability to recommend people for positions when they assume any sort of power in government. Simply recommending someone for a job and allowing oneself to be a point of reference for potential job providers isn’t illegal, nor should it be looked down upon. Employers ask for references, and people should be allowed to use whomever they chose for a reference (with permission).

Please. Yes, recommendations. But not BY THE BOSS in a publc entity for someone he’s sleeping with.

When the Boss says “hire someone” you do it. The BOSS isn’t the owner of a company here- It’s not his money. It’s the taxpayer’s money. He put pressure on a little worker bee to hire his obviously unqualified sex toy on the public dime.

It IS a big deal. It’s corruption. Save me from the “he’s just helping out” spin.

should have added- IF HE DID IT. No proof that he did. Post above would apply to any government official who actually behaved in such a manner.
