NoGITolls.com joins in with Assemblyman Schroeder and Senator Maziarz in call to eliminate New York State Thruway Authority

Assemblyman Mark Schroeder, a Buffalo-area Democrat, said he’s pushing a bill that would abolish the Thruway Authority.

Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Buffalo, said the decision results in increases of 45 percent over five years. He said reform of the system is needed.

“This unwarranted toll increase is a slap in the face to the hard-working residents of Western New York,” Higgins said. “The Thruway Authority has created a fictional budget hole as a means to justify a toll increase that pads their already bloated bureaucratic pockets.”

Schroeder has joined State Sen. George D. Maziarz, RNewfane, in sponsoring a bill that would abolish the authority and transfer the Thruway to the state highway system.

We agree and it has always been our long term goal to do just that. As soon as I get the Bill numbers I will post them so we can follow where they are and where they stand.
