Evidently, David Torke read it and disregarded it or he missed it. Either way, this is too much fun to share. A little bit of background, in a thread over at BuffaloPundit’s site a few weeks ago, the thread devolved into making wildly tangential suppositions about people or issues without much thought to their truthiness. I joined in the fun and made the following wild suppositions about BuffaloPundit:

I think Pundit is a tool for the municipal unions, folds his envelope, would beat Jim Ostrowski in a game of Legalese Jeopardy!, owns a mansion and a yacht, opens his gifts on Christmas Eve rather than Christmas morning, would never own a Ford, enjoys reading legal briefs whilst sitting on the crapper, enjoys the sight of banana deprived bonobos flinging poop, thought Return of The Jedi sucked, enjoys the big band swing music of Barry Manilow, dreams of spooning up with David Torke, and loves those Taco Bell Crunchwrap Supremes.

Some of the above may be true. It’s fun to make wild suppositions!

This morning, I received an email from Senor Torke in which he takes serious umbrage with my remarks:

Dude,

I’ve never met you, and I don’t care to. I dont even know your name. But I’m probaly not the first to understand or tell you that you are a total asshole. Not only for the stupid “twat” comment a few weeks back – that you were too sissy to let stand – but for this disparaging remark that I have just learned about via Google Alerts.

You will quickly notice that I only and on very rare occasion engage in vitrolic posting regarding high profile public figures on my blog – the bishop, some HUD people occasionally the mayor and never engage in personal attack. 80% of my blog is narrowly focused on the City’s near east side. You and Alan however seem to make things personal when ever your position is threatened. That’s very understandable as the infinately maleable local blogosphere seems to enjoy your endless drivel and self promoting pomposity.

If I were your brother, I would have to hit you…but I’m not, so I can’t. Meanwhile, stop your shit before someone hurts you..

Yes, he has a google alert set up to monitor The Internets for mentions of his name. Paranoia? Megalomania? I report, you decide…

I have never once mentioned David Torke nor his Woodlwawn Row Houses nor East Side efforts on these pages. Not once, because they don’t interest me. I log into Pundit’s site, watch those two bicker back and forth and make a comment once in a while. Evidently, this is enough to get David to send me an email in which he threatens physical violence. Nice.

You told me to share it with my douchebag sidekick, and if nothing else, I like to follow directions.

David, stop taking yourself so seriously. Lodging personal threats against someone on the Internet is not a good way to bolster your reputation around here. I highly suggest that you grow a sense of humor and relax.

Although, it’s really not a complete week unless I get someone to send me an email in which they threaten to kick my ass. Good times…
